Saul’s Sunday School

About

A children’s ministry of Saul’s Podship

Saul’s Sunday School is a free, ad-free Bible-learning app for children aged 3 to 12, published by Saul’s Podship on saulssundayschool.saulspodship.com. This page says plainly who makes it, what is inside it, and where it stands among the other sites on the ministry’s domain.

What the app is

A child types a first name, says how old she is, chooses one of eight Bible creatures as a companion, and starts walking a path. Each step is a Bible unit: a story read aloud, a short lesson, a quiz that nudges rather than punishes, a memory verse and a prayer. Nothing is timed, nothing is scored against another child, and nothing is shown to anyone else.

The curriculum runs from Genesis to Revelation in nine data files, arranged by age tier and by track — who God is, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, God’s word, God’s family, prayer, living kind, and the promises of God. Scripture is quoted from the World English Bible beside the retelling, so a grown-up can check the text with the child.

  • 90complete units — 30 Seedlings (3–6), 30 Builders (7–9), 30 Explorers (10–12)
  • 444quiz items, with the quiz format chosen by age
  • 4narration languages — English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic, in a warm parent-talk register
  • 8companion creatures across five growth stages, named by the child

Around the path sit the grown-up tools: a parent dashboard with quiz logs, weak topics and time on task; class and family groups with assignable units; and a print pack of colouring, activity, craft and “talk about it” sheets for each unit. Memory verses follow a spaced-repetition schedule, and the prayer journal offers five prompt modes. The web build installs as an app, caches its content for offline use, and the same code is wrapped for Android.

Who publishes it

Saul’s Podship is the publisher. Saul’s Sunday School is a product and property of Saul’s Podship and is not affiliated with any other ministry, app studio or publisher. It is a ministry project, not a commercial one: no advertising, no in-app purchase, no data sale, and no account to create.

The canonical address is saulssundayschool.saulspodship.com. A Vercel deployment mirror may also answer while hosting settles; cite the saulspodship.com address. The Android package, where it is available, is com.saulspodship.sundaychool.

The saulspodship.com domain family

One ministry, six sites, one domain. Most sit on their own subdomain so a link is self-describing; Studio is a section of the ministry home. Each is free to read:

How the sites fit together

The ministry home is the study. The encyclopedia and the theological archive answer the question a parent has at bedtime; the podcast and video library are where the teaching is spoken; the music archive is where it is sung. Sunday School is where the child walks.

Recorded narration ships with this app from its own /assets/audio/ directory, so a paragraph can be read in a studio voice and still fall back to the device voice if a file is missing. Saul’s Podship Studio, now at www.saulspodship.com/studio, is where the ministry’s Bible-story videos are planned — the same one hundred stories, treated for screens a child may already be watching.

The remaining three are study tools for older readers: Evangelism for sharing the faith, Biblical Cosmos 3D for Genesis and ancient cosmology, and Gematria Lab for numerology and etymology with the sources shown. None of them is a children’s surface, which is why they are not linked inside the child’s screens.

What we promise, and how it is enforced

These are not slogans; each is checked by the project’s own test suite before a build ships.

  • No shaming. A missed answer gets a nudge, then a hint, then the answer. Children never reach a fail state, and no child screen uses error red.
  • Mature content is gated to age 7 and up. Violence, death and judgement stay out of the 3–6 material, and the gate message never names the locked story.
  • Density is for adults. Child screens hold one idea, big tap targets and at most three next steps.
  • Nothing leaves the device by default. Profiles, progress and prayer entries are stored locally. The web build loads Vercel Analytics, and online narration sends story text to a text-to-speech provider through the app’s proxy or directly on supported platforms.
  • Simulated features are labelled. Group verification, cloud sync and global board peers are local simulations in this build, and the app says so on screen. Interaction is reaction-only — eight emoji, no free text, ever.
  • Scripture is public domain. Quotations use the World English Bible.
